PROTOTYPE AND BACKGROUND INFO:
In the 1960s, the North American Car Corporation designed and built a 50’ outside post, insulated, plug - door box car, which foreshadowed future railroad developments. Many railroads rostered this car, mostly bought or leased by private shippers. The NACC cars had complex and colorful paint schemes. When they were built, general leasing, billboard paint schemes, and modern freight handling techniques were still about a decade away.

Using this Athearn HO scale box car is easy. Just place it on your train track with a minimum radius of 18 inches and let it roll. The ready - to - roll 70 - ton trucks and body - mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers make it simple to connect to other cars. For best performance, keep it clean. You can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the body, metal grab irons, and wheels. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint or the parts. When storing, put it in a cool, dry place to prevent any rust on the metal components. And always handle it with care to avoid any breakage of the delicate parts like the etched end platforms.
