The Walthers Layout Control System offers an affordable solution for effortlessly controlling turnouts in HO, N, Z, S, and O Scale layouts. This system can be expanded at any time as your layout grows and works with both DCC and DC power, thanks to the integrated DCC accessory decoder in the switch machine. It uses plug-and-play servo-style wiring with connectors, eliminating the need for soldering. Two types of cables are available separately for expanding your wiring. All items come with user-friendly instructions and appropriate drilling templates for easy mounting on your layout or fascia. With system components like a servo-based slow-motion Switch Machine, Power Distribution Block, LED panel indicator-control pushbutton switches, add-on system cabling, a 2-amp 12V Filtered DC Power Supply, and a three-piece drill set, you can easily build a complete control system. The Walthers Layout Control System Vertical Switch Machine has many great features. It's a fully assembled, servo-based unit with a throw speed of about one second. It has an integrated DCC accessory decoder, two built-in 5A switches for powering frogs and signals, a self-locking mechanism for reliable positioning, adjustable throw and tension from 1mm to 12mm for turnouts in any scale from Z to O, and it comes factory-assembled with the output rod centered for fast under-benchwork mounting. You can wire it in minutes with the included cables, and it has outputs for both single or bi-color LEDs. A connecting cable is included and can be easily expanded with the Connecting Cable (#942-112, sold separately). The horizontal mount is 8.5cm tall. Options include adjustable throw speed from 0.5 to 5 seconds, a remote lock input for dispatcher control, single/alternate bi-color LED modes, polarity route control, and complete instructions with a mounting template (use with the Walthers Layout Control System Turnout Drill Set #942-140, sold separately).

Using the Walthers 942-101 Vertical Mount Switch Machine is a breeze. First, check that all the components are included as listed in the package. Mount the switch machine on your layout or fascia using the provided drilling templates. It's designed for easy under-benchwork mounting, so you can get it set up quickly. When wiring, use the included cables. The plug-and-play servo-style wiring means you don't need to solder. Just connect the cables as instructed. If you need to expand your wiring, you can buy the Connecting Cable (#942-112) separately. Once everything is wired, you can start using the switch machine to control your turnouts. The system works with both DCC and DC power, so choose the power source that suits your layout. You can adjust the throw and tension of the switch machine from 1mm to 12mm to fit turnouts in different scales. Also, you have options like adjustable throw speed and different LED modes. For maintenance, keep the switch machine clean and free from dust. Check the wiring regularly to make sure there are no loose connections. If you're using the remote lock input, test it occasionally to ensure it's working properly. Remember to follow the instructions carefully when using the Walthers Layout Control System Turnout Drill Set (#942-140) if you buy it separately.
