Upgrade your HO scale power grid with the Walthers Cornerstone Intermediate Height 'Wood' Utility Poles kit. These poles, based on real prototypes that carry reduced - voltage from substations to customer - serving transformers, are a must - have for modern power grid modeling. The kit comes with new tooling and parts to build 12 poles. It includes 36 separate insulators that can be drilled for 'Wire' (sold separately). The poles feature a realistic wood grain texture and are molded in brown and light gray. Each pole stands 6 - 1/4' (17.5cm) or 45 scale feet tall above the surface, with a 3/8' (10mm) mounting pin. You can model a complete power grid by combining this kit with other Cornerstone products (sold separately).

Using these utility poles is easy. First, decide where you want to place the poles in your HO scale power grid. Make sure the surface is flat and clean. Then, take the poles out of the package and use the 3/8' (10mm) mounting pin to secure them in place. If you want to add more detail, you can drill out the 36 separate insulators and insert the 'Wire' (sold separately). When handling the poles, be gentle as they are delicate. To maintain them, keep them away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight to prevent color fading and warping. Store them in a dry and cool place when not in use. Also, avoid dropping or knocking them around to prevent breakage.
