Rapido presents the 33525 M420 + M420B BCR locomotives in a sharp two-tone green scheme (#644 + #683), designed for HO scale with DCC and sound. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The EMD's E-8 and its successor E-9 were iconic North American passenger locomotives from the 1950s to 1970s. They were the workhorses that pulled trains across the continent and later formed the core of Amtrak's early fleet. Many were used in commuter service before retirement, and now some are preserved in museums and tourist railroads. What sets Rapido's E8 and E9 models apart is our commitment to accuracy. We 3D laser-scanned a real Union Pacific E8 #942 to get the nose, roof, and windshield contours spot-on. Our HO scale EMD E8A & E8B locomotives have a 3D laser-scanned body shell, accurate contours, and a wide range of variations. They come with a heavy die-cast chassis, a smooth all-wheel-powered drive system, and complete lighting effects. There are also numerous road-specific detail parts in plastic and etched metal, like different sand filler hatch styles, PRR Train Phone antenna, and more.

Using your Rapido HO scale locomotive is easy. First, make sure your DCC system is set up correctly. Connect the locomotive to the tracks and power it on. You can use the DCC controller to control its speed, direction, and activate the sound. When handling the locomotive, be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate parts. Keep it away from dust and dirt as much as possible. For maintenance, you can clean the wheels and electrical contacts regularly with a soft cloth. Check the body shell for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any issues, you can refer to the user manual or contact our customer support. Enjoy running your locomotive on your HO scale layout!
