This ATLAS 40' PS-1 Box Car, numbered #25386 of the Seaboard Air Line (SAL), is in N scale (Part # 150-50003975). The 40-foot boxcar was a favorite freight car when railroads switched from steam to diesel. The Pullman Standard or PS-1 design, in particular, was very popular among North American railroads. Built from 1947 to 1963, over 100,000 of these boxcars were made, with minor differences in door size, style, and roof type across railroads and production years. Key features include body-mounted Accumate couplers, Barber S-2A 50-ton trucks with metal wheels, separately applied ladders, an etched metal roof walk, a 10' or 12' stiffener roof as per the prototype, and Ajax and Miner brake wheels.

Using this ATLAS N scale box car is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and connect it to other cars using the body-mounted Accumate couplers. When handling the car, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders and the etched metal roof walk. For maintenance, keep it in a dry place to prevent the metal parts like the wheels and brake wheels from rusting. You can use a soft brush to clean the dust off the car regularly. If you notice any loose parts, handle them carefully and try to re - attach them. Enjoy your realistic model railroad experience with this detailed box car!
