The Athearn Genesis ATHG75859 is an EMD SD70ACU locomotive from Norfolk Southern, numbered #7242. It's in HO scale and comes with DCC and Sound Tsunami 2. The NS features include a Nathan 5 - chime horn, a large plow, and alternating flash ditch lights on both ends that work in DCC. In 2016, NS rebuilt ex - UP SD9043MACs into SD70ACU locomotives with upgraded components and a new EMD cab. Using this Athearn locomotive is easy. First, if you're using DCC, connect it to your DCC system following the Quick Plug™ technology with the 21 - pin NEM connector. If you're using DC, it'll also work well. For the sound functions, the engine, horn, and bell sounds will work in DC, and you can access full DCC functions in DCC mode. When running it on your track, make sure the radius meets the minimum of 18” or better, the recommended 22”. As for maintenance, keep the locomotive clean.
