Prototype and Background Info:
The 1960s were a key development period for railroading. The North American Car Corporation designed and built a 50’ outside post, insulated, plug door box car. Many railroads rostered this car, often leased to private shippers. The NACC cars had complex, colorful paint schemes. When built, general leasing, billboard paint schemes, and modern freight handling were still about a decade away.

This Athearn HO scale box car is a great addition to your model railroad. To use it, simply place it on your track and connect it to other cars using the McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers. It's ready to roll right out of the box. When handling the car, be careful not to damage the metal grab irons or the etched end platforms. For maintenance, you can gently clean the wheels with a soft cloth to keep them running smoothly. Make sure to use it on tracks with a minimum radius of 18 inches to ensure proper performance. Keep it in a dry place when not in use to prevent any damage to the paint or other components.
